In specific contract No 10 issued under the framework agreement OC/EFSA/AMU/2015/02, EFSA requested Open Analytics to implement two software components: (a) an extension of the Monte‐Carlo web application and (b) a web application for expert knowledge elicitation.

Software component (a) is developed in R and consists of a WEB‐based tool to process simulation results from the Monte‐Carlo app, with the task of comparing results of several additional scenarios with a single original scenario. More specifically, there are three modules implemented: (1) extension of the Monte‐Carlo application that allows exporting and importing a full scenario (variables, equation, simulation and results), (2) extension of the Monte‐Carlo application that allows modifying input variables and updating their simulations in a way that leaves simulations of the remaining variables unchanged, (3) web application to compare the simulations of all scenarios in tabular and graphical format.

Software component (b) is developed in R and consists of a WEB‐based tool to support the expert knowledge elicitation (EKE) process. More specifically, there are four modules implemented: (1) Create an EKE session, (2) Invite experts to the EKE session, (3) Elicitation process consisting of several rounds, (4) Report elicitation results. The facilitator will have access to all four modules, while the invited experts have restricted access to the 3rd module. Depending on the elicitation phase, specific input is requested from the facilitator and invited experts. These results are summarized within the WEB application and saved for later use outside the WEB application.
